Posters and Demos- Guide

Posters:

  • See the Poster IDs and List to find your poster number- (it is not the same as the submission #)
  • Poster size: Not to exceed W 36'' x H 48'' (ideal size W 36" x H 44")
  • Poster sessions:  Tues August 7th and Weds Aug 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm
  • Posters can be set up in the Cascade Ballroom anytime from Tuesday Aug 7th, at 8 am, and need to be taken down by Friday Aug 10th, at noon
  • All poster presenters are required to do a 1.5 minute Flash Talk (unless presenting in Workshop)

Flash Talks (Poster/ Demo presenters): Purpose is to introduce/invite the audience to your poster

  • Tuesday August 7th 6:30-7:00 pm - Part I: Posters P01 to P16
  • Weds Aug 8th 6:30-7:00 pm - Part II: Posters P17 to P33
  • Presenters must prepare ONLY TWO SLIDES per poster or demo:
    • Slide 1: Talk title, presenter name, affiliation. Feel free to add funding and acknowledgments, if required
    • Slide 2: Main Research Content (max 3 animations)
    • Flash Talks are 1.5 minutes each (Q&A at the poster/demo)
  • Format: PowerPoint PPT or PPTx (preferred). Use PDF if there is no other option.
    • Make sure you use large fonts in the text. Enlarge fonts prior to taking screen capture images (if any)
    • Use the speaker computer only for presentation. No personal computer allowed for presentation
    • No live demos allowed (there is a demo session in the evening with poster session on August 7th and 8th)

Send your PowerPoint to Laurel Cooper by Friday August 3rd

  • Software and Online Resource Demo:
    • Tues August 7th and Weds Aug 8th during poster session; 6 to 8 pm
      • Must Present a flash talk (see above). Poster optional
      • It is held simultaneously with the Poster session
      • We will provide Free WiFi, a table and possibly an external monitor to help you engage the audience
